i was all excited that i had time to post and now i am just sitting here trying to think about a topic to blog about. i could tell you about my day, but that would be very boring. we went to Friendly's for lunch. it was okay :/ now we are just sitting around the house being bum's. i can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas Day. we are going to the Christmas Eve service at church and then to my gramma's house. i am looking at my email and realsimple sent me the "prettiest cookie ever". it looks pretty good.

here are my picks for the week. i tried to find scarf, and don't get me wrong there were tons of scarfs, but i didn't see amy i liked and the pictures didn't look very professional. sorry, i have a very bad case of OCD. i really liked these ones though.

dear computer,

i really like you. you are useful for many things. such as, writing my english project, talking with friends and famil, and even blogging. but, lovely computer, why do you do this to me? why do you decide to not work on the day that i am already feeling pretty lousy? i hope we can set aside our differences and be friends again :)
~eliza

you don't know how much i want to rip my hair out... okay, so maybe that is an exagerattion(i don't even know if i spelled that right). but i am really annoyed. i just tried to publish a post TWICE!! and i don't even know if this will work. maybe i will copy and paste it into word... this is really frustrating i thought that i would post a christmas video. i haven't put a song on in a while... well the computer decides that it doesn't want to upload a video.

i haven't been feeling great. just a cold, but cold's can feel like the worst thing on earth. i feel like sleeping all day and i don't want to get the rest of my family sick :( i could go on and on complaining...

christmas came really fast this year, has it not? i can't believe that christmas eve is tomorrow. by the way: did you know that today is christmas adam? tomorrow is christmas eve, and adame comes before eve. so that makes today christmas adam. we are going to my gramma's tomorrow and i am going to see my baby cousin for the first time(!!!) i would put a picture but i feel like that would be weird. or matbe i am just weird? anyways he is the cutest baby ever! and no, i am not lying ;)

click here if you want to hear the song that i was trying to post earlier:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bK8xB1opuQ8

i heard the bells on christmas day-casting crowns
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men
And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they're singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men
But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men
Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men
Then ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men
And the bells they're ringing
Like a choir they're singing
And with our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
Do you hear the bells they're ringing?
The life the angels singing
Open up your heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men
Peace on earth, Peace on earth
Peace on earth, Good will to men
wall painting illusions
so... i haven't been up to much lately. just rehearsing for the musical (here) and i joined the basketball team. my days have been very long, getting up at 6am going to school for six hours and right after musical rehearsal for 2 1/2 hours then basketball until 7pm and then i get home and have lots of homework to finish.
anyways... i wanted to share these cool illusions. Nothing is photoshopped. All paints and line work were strategically placed to create 2 dimensional illusions in each room.
pretty cool, right?
once on this island jr.
my school is doing a production called once on this island-- and of course it's the jr. version because we are in the middle school. we have two weeks left of rehearsals and then we go on to the stage! it's lots of fun so far. i really like the songs, they are so beautiful sounding :) The story is a little weird. The basic story line is--a girl is found in the middle of a storm, she is saved by an old couple, she saves a boy in a crash(the boy is from the other side of the island), she wants to go looking for the boy when she is older, the boy gets married to a different women who lives on their side of the island, the girl dies and turns into a tree :) if that makes any sense..... we are showing it the 13th and 14th of november. so far it has been lots of fun!
update
i decided that i would start trying to post more often. my blog is pretty sad right now-- i haven't posted sence august. i am a procrastinator :( i don't really know if anyone reads my blog, but i guess it's good typing practice for me(?). i just updated all my blogs features and things(i hope you like). i get t ired of the same thing after a while. anyways i will try to keep you updated.
i am so excited because my family is expecting a baby every month until february. i am so excited! last week i went with my mom to a sonogram and she is expecting a boy! we made a registry on friday at target-- lots of fun.
my class went on a field trip to ellis island two weeks ago. i loved it. the trip was so...educational(does that sound corny??) ha. i learned so much about immigration and i was able to look up family names. after about 6 1/2 hours at ellis island we took a ferry over to liberty island. i took around 150 pictures so here is just a few...
i was going to write something else, but i forgot. so, have a good day and don't forget to leave a comment :)
Samuel Morse
Samuel Mosre's Birthday
today is samuel morse's birthday. Samuel Finley Breeze Morse was born in Charlestown, Mass. on 27th April 1791. He was not a scientist - he was a professional artist. Educated at Phillip’s Academy at Andover, he graduated from Yale in 1810 and he lived in England from 1811 to 1815, exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1813. He spent the next ten years as an itinerant artist with a particular interest in portraiture. He returned to America in 1832 having been appointed Professor of Painting and Sculpture at the University of the City of New York. It was on this homeward voyage that he overheard a shipboard discussion on electromagnets. This was the seed out of which the electric telegraph grew. Morse is remembered for his Code, still used, and less for the invention that enabled it to be used, probably since landline telegraphy eventually gave way to wireless telegraphy.
sorry.
sorry i haven't blogged in a really, really, really long time. i have many things going on and haven't found the time to blog. nothing too exciting has happened, though. i did get baptized on sunday, that was exciting. Here is one of Aesob's Fables to read. enjoy :)
The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse
Now you must know that a Town Mouse once upon a time went on a visit to his cousin in the country. He was rough and ready, this cousin, but he loved his town friend and made him heartily welcome. Beans and bacon, cheese and bread, were all he had to offer, but he offered them freely. The Town Mouse rather turned up his long nose at this country fare, and said: "I cannot understand, Cousin, how you can put up with such poor food as this, but of course you cannot expect anything better in the country; come you with me and I will show you how to live. When you have been in town a week you will wonder how you could ever have stood a country life." No sooner said than done: the two mice set off for the town and arrived at the Town Mouse's residence late at night. "You will want some refreshment after our long journey," said the polite Town Mouse, and took his friend into the grand dining-room. There they found the remains of a fine feast, and soon the two mice were eating up jellies and cakes and all that was nice. Suddenly they heard growling and barking. "What is that?" said the Country Mouse. "It is only the dogs of the house," answered the other. "Only!" said the Country Mouse. "I do not like that music at my dinner." Just at that moment the door flew open, in came two huge mastiffs, and the two mice had to scamper down and run off. "Good-bye, Cousin," said the Country Mouse, "What! going so soon?" said the other. "Yes," he replied;
"Better beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear."
Josh Wilson~Savior, Please
Josh Wilson~Savior, Please
Savior, please take my hand
I work so hard, I live so fast
This life begins, and then it ends
And I do the best that I can, but I don't know how long I'll last
I try to be so tough
But I'm just not strong enough
I can't do this alone,
God I need You to hold on to me
I try to be good enough
But I'm nothing without Your love
Savior, please keep saving me
Savior, please help me stand
I fall so hard, I fade so fast
Will You begin right where I end
And be the God of all I am because
You're all I have
Hallelujah
Everything You are to me
Is everything I'll ever need
And I am learning to believe
That I don't have to prove a thing
'Cause You're the one who's saving me
Wrong Jobs
i was looking at optical illusions and found these, i saw pictures like these before but they were trucks!! These are some old (but still clever) ads for a European job search site, with the tag line: "Life's too short for the wrong job." lol :)
try and read this, i bet you can!
When you first look at this, how many colours do you see? Some might say they see 3 or even 4 colours, but there are 2 - red and green! People usually think they see 2 shades of red, but there is only 1. Look closely and you will notice on one side that white boxes surround the red boxes, and on the other side, green boxes do! Due to the placement of these boxes you get the "illusion" of different colours. Since white is not considered to be a colour (it is the presence of all colours in scientific terms) we can safely say that there are 2 colours present here!
